Singing Waters has an outstanding coastal location with fantastic views, offering peace and tranquillity. A house like this on the sea’s edge is rarely available, and Singing Waters is one of the finest situated houses in Staithes.

Suitable as a wonderful home to retire to; a great family home; an inspirational home for an artist; a superb second home or holiday rental – this house has a great deal of potential.

In the summer, appreciate the sea and harbour views from the magnificent terrace – a great space, for a peaceful sun-drenched breakfast watching the cormorants fishing, or large enough for entertaining. In winter, safe and warm by the log stove, be thrilled by the awesome power, drama and spectacle of a raging North Sea through the large picture windows.
Location

Staithes is a popular holiday destination and it has a variety of cafes, pubs, gift shops, a food store and chocolate shop.

Staithes is located in the North York Moors National Park with access to some of the finest walks in North Yorkshire. It is also situated on one of the best walks in England, the Cleveland Way, a bird watching and nature lover’s haven. For the beach lover, apart from Staithes own child friendly beach, are sandy beaches at Runswick Bay (2.5 miles), Skinningrove (5 miles) (recently ranked as one of the UK’s finest beaches), and Sandsend (7.5miles), all within easy reach.

Central to Staithes life is the active RNLI Lifeboat station with the Lifeboat Weekend in August, and the Staithes Festival of Arts and Heritage in September.

All the essentials are nearby, including doctors, supermarket and nearby schools.

Exterior
Situated in an imposing position on the sea wall in Staithes harbour, it has unobstructed magnificent views over the harbour and out to sea. The terrace is a large outdoor space, great for drinks and barbecues, whilst enjoying the ever changing view of the harbour, sunrises, sea and sky.

The property has parking and a garage, a rare find in the village.

Interior
The side external door in Garths End yard where the garage is situated, opens on to the hall, from here doors open to the lounge, kitchen/diner and W/C.

The spacious, light and airy lounge has huge picture windows looking over the sea and opens onto the terrace, a large private space to appreciate the open views. The lounge offers ample space for both living and dining furniture. A Danish wood burning stove makes the lounge super cosy in winter.

There is a freestanding cooker, tall fridge and plumbing for a washing machine or dishwasher. A very large dining table can be accommodated in the kitchen. An external door from the kitchen opens onto the front of the property on the High Street.

From the lounge, stairs rise to the first floor, here you have three good sized bedrooms two have sea views. There is a bathroom and separate WC and bedroom three is large enough to install an ensuite bathroom if required.

The house bathroom is marble tiled, bath tub with shower attachment, enclosed shower cubicle, wash hand basin and useful alcove shelving. The WC is located adjacent to the bathroom.

To the second floor, two light and spacious attic rooms with four Velux windows and good head clearance. They are currently used as an office space and artist’s studio but can easily be altered to bedrooms four and five if required (in a Jack and Jill style arrangement).

With approximately 250 square metres of living space, it is one of the largest houses in Staithes, and with three double bedrooms and the two third floor rooms, the house could accommodate a large extended family.

The property has neutral décor, tiled flooring in the kitchen, wood flooring in the studio, otherwise carpeted throughout. It is mainly double-glazed and equipped with a recently upgraded programmable, oil-fired, central heating system with separate thermostat and individual controls regulating heat from all radiators.
